Okay, well, I play on a MUSH called Elendor, based on The Lord of the Rings, and on it I'm the OOC ruler of Bree. Anyhoo, lately, an old player from Bree, who also used to rule it, just suddenly kicked into activity again, after being first inactive, then touring all the other cultures on the MUSH. Anyway, now, using knowledge from when he was ruler, he's managed to start stealing privileges, things like access to BBoards and +Coms that he shouldn't have. Anyway, I've talked to Matzkil and Sauron about it, and Matz managed to close all the security holes (he's good like that), but now comes the hard part. I've got to talk to the player and let him know that he's out of line. I also talked to Wilbur (my predecessor) about it, and she said to ignore the player's requests, and just make sure the security holes are shut, and tell him to stop it. Grr. The only problem is, I have to be assertive for that, and assertiveness to players is not my strong point. I always feel paranoid that I'm coming down on them too hard, and abusing my authority. Hence, frustration.
